Peggy LaNell Lambert, 72
1952-2025

Peggy LaNell Lambert, 72, of Dumas, Arkansas passed away May 9, 2025, in Dumas. She was born November 23, 1952, in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Daniel Junior Smith and Amy Willene Hilburn Smith. Her parents, sister Carol Jean Cantrell and her beloved Aunts, Uncles, cousins, nephews, and nieces preceded her in death.

LaNell was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dumas. She had been a former member of Women’s Service League, garden club, Sunday school teacher, served with both R.A’s and G. A’s at First Baptist Church and various other committees.

LaNell had been a cosmetologist owning her own salon, she had enjoyed working as Interior Decorator with Keeping Company with Dinah and served as a substitute teacher. She modeled clothing for Designing Women for Delta Burk.

Lanell married Glendon Lambert in 1969, and they made their home in Dumas, and welcomed into their life two sons Landon (Amy) Lambert and Adam Lee Lambert, all of Dumas, Arkansas. Her husband and sons called her beautiful, she loved to give smiles and laughter to everyone around her. Later Lanell would become known as Nana Puddin to her beloved grandchildren; Dylan Fowler, McKinsey (Bradley) Sass, Anna Claire Lambert, Ellie Lambert, Lauren Hightower-Lambert, Olivia Reese Lambert and one great grandchild Walker James Sass. LaNell, is also survived by her sister, Jackie (Tary) Prewitt of Searcy, Arkansas, her many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and her cousins. LaNell loved and enjoyed her family and her friends, she will be missed, always remembered by her big smile, larger than life personality, quick wit by all who knew her.

Visitation and services held at First Baptist Church on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, visitation from 1pm-2pm. Services follow at 2 pm, with Rev. Dubs Byers and Rev. Bill Hilburn officiating with interment in Jefferson Cemetery. Memorials in memory of LaNell may be made to First Baptist Church, 200 East Waterman Street, Dumas, Arkansas 71639.
