Peggy Jean Norman, 87
1937-2025

Peggy Jean Ivy Norman was born May 19, 1937, in Hampton, AR, to Horace and Georgie Ginn Ivy. She graduated from Hampton High School and moved to Pine Bluff in 1956. She was married to Dean Norman on May 26, 1956, and became the office manager for Dean Norman Construction until her retirement in 2000. Peggy was a long-time member of Calvary Baptist Church in White Hall. She loved her church and her church family and was a former Sunday School teacher. She also loved to cook and for many years was in charge of food for various events at the church. Peggy had lots of friends and could be described as a social butterfly and was always ready to go or do something at a moment’s notice. She will be missed by her “Thursday night dinner crew.”

Peggy passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at the age of 87. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers, Ginn, Buddy, Thomas and John Ivy; and two sisters, Bettye Murphy and Ann Burson.

Survivors include her son, William “Bill” Norman; her daughter, Judy Norman May; two grandchildren whom she adored, Julie Naramore and husband, Blake and Derek May and wife, Elle; one great-grandson, Dean May; one sister, Bobbie Rogers; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

Visitation will be at 1:00 P.M. Friday, April 11, 2025, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son followed by funeral services at 2:00 P.M. with the Revs. Mack Milner and Rodney Castleberry officiating. Burial will be in Cypress Memorial Gardens.
