1945-2025
Patricia “Pat” Petray, age 80 of Pine Bluff, passed away Saturday, May 10, 2025.
Born January 23, 1945 at Pine Bluff, she was a daughter of the late D. H. Hankins and Lois Bounds Nesbett. She spent her early life in Glendale and was raised by her mother and her stepfather, Elmer Wingard. She graduated from Watson Chapel High School in 1962 and was the homecoming queen and a cheerleader.
For over 20 years, she worked for First Federal Savings and Loan (later First South) and was the Broadmoor branch manager at the time of her retirement.
Mrs. Petray was a Baptist and enjoyed bowling and tending to her beautiful lawn and garden.
She was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, Jim Ellis and her sister-in-law, Linda Hankins.
Survivors include her husband Melbourne Ray “Buck” Petray; a daughter, Tammy Petray Ellis; two grandchildren, Joshua Ellis (Jessica) and Drew Ellis; three great-grandchildren, Lena, Sean, and Rowan Ellis; and two brothers, Don Hankins (Eva) and Troy Hankins.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 14, 2025 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Fuller Hale-South Funeral Chapel. A private graveside service will be held.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Shriners Hospitals for Children.
