Mrs. Mary Jean Williams Cross, was graced in this world on January 17, 1951, to the late Esther Lee Williams-Johnson and Willis Johnson of Hampton AR. She left this world on November 7, 2024 at the age of 73.
She came to Christ at an early age at First Baptist Church. Mary later joined East Side Church of Christ in Hampton AR.
Mary was a graduate of the Class of 1969 in Hampton High School. After High School Mary, studied Health Care. This field led Mary to raising and caring for a community and host of children. She later worked at the Hampton Public School Cafeteria until she retired in 2015
Mary united in Holy Matrimony to the late Veotis (Bo) Cross, September 3rd 1994. In that unit she acquired an extended family. Mary leaves to cherish a sister Ira Mae Green of Eldorado, AR. Brothers, Willie Johnson (Faye) and Robert Johnson (Lillie). Sister in law Lois Williams Little Rock AR.
Daughters Crystal Marshall and Astran Williams both of Hampton AR. A “Special Son” Gary Cross. Five grandchildren Ashanti Hunter, Akira McRae, Amariah Swygart, Aden Williams, KeMani Gilmore. Special grand Ke’Ara Moore. Three great-grands Aubrie, Evey, Nola. Special niece and nephew Sharon Edwards, and Jimmy Smith. Lifelong friends Joyce Thompson, Eddie Parker, Ann Miller and Deloris Robinson.
In addition to Mary’s social life you could find Mary being the life of the party, cooking Sunday Dinner for Family and Friends, Spending time with her children and grandchildren. Mary was always a helping hand, and didn’t mind giving honest advice.
Mary's passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her, but her legacy of love and kindness will continue to shine brightly. Her gentle presence, wise counsel, and infectious laughter will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Visitation 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Brown-Williams Funeral Home Pine Bluff, AR. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 15, 2024, at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church Harrell, AR by Rev. Earnest Moore. Interment in St. Paul Cemetery Hampton, AR by Brown-Williams Funeral Home of Pine Bluff, AR.
