Martha Pearlean Fallon Cline, 89
1935-2024

Mrs. Martha Pearlean Fallon Cline was born in Almyra, Arkansas, on August 30, 1935, to the late Gleason and Laura Fallon. She was the oldest of three girls. Mrs. Cline began her formal education at Rosenwald Elementary and graduated from Rosenwald High School. She loved fishing, gardening, working crossword puzzles, singing, and spending time with her family. In her spare time, she would always work elections at the school and the Humphrey Community Center. She worked part-time as the cook at the Humphrey Hotel and Café and cleaned rooms. She also loved to babysit.

She confessed her faith in Christ at an early age at First Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. I. J. Ross. She remained a faithful member of First Missionary Baptist under the leadership of Rev. Arthur Hughes, Jr. until her health failed. She worked in many areas of the church, including as a Youth Sunday School teacher, Superintendent of Sunday School, Member of the Mother’s Board, a Deaconness and a Member of the Missionary Society.

On Nov. 3, 1957, she was united in holy matrimony by the late E. J. Richardson, Sr., to the late Cleophus Cline. Six children were born into this union. Mrs. Cline was a dedicated wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend.

She is preceded in death by a son, Kenny Cline, and two sisters, Shirley Gulley and Gloria Dean Patilla. One niece: Lynn Reeves. Two daughters-in-law, Becky Cline and Bobbi Cline, and one son-in-law, Joseph McNeil.

She leaves to celebrate her life five children: Phyllis (Raymond) Rodgers of Stuttgart, Arkansas; Patricia McNeil, James (Linda) Cline, Sr. and Queen (Gregory) Johnson of Humphrey, Arkansas; and Daphne (Felix) Jenkins of Merced, California; two children whom she raised as her own-Laura (Dale) Robinson of Humphrey, Arkansas, and Jimmy Walker of Stuttgart, Arkansas; four brothers-in-law, Buccie (Gwen) Cline, Jr., L. B. (Liz) Strickland, Sylvester Cline, and Calvin Cline. One sister-in-law, Juanita Levingston. A goddaughter- Annie (Cleveland) Hatch of Humphrey, whom she adopted as a daughter; Two adopted sisters, Dorothy Robinson and Stella Hayes, both of Humphrey, AR; She has 27 grandchildren, 81 great-grands, and 10 great great-grands and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
