Malvin was born September 29, 1947, in Pine Bluff, AR to Eddie Jones and Willie Mae Brown. Friday, January 30, 2026, marked the day the Lord welcomed His servant into His presence. Malvin confessed his belief in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ at an early age. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church.
Malvin attended Pine Bluff Public Schools until he decided it was time to explore other parts of the world. He joined the United States Army and served with distinction, bravery, dedication, and sacrifice. While in the U.S. Army, Malvin received several awards for his service. His uniform was well decorated and worn with great pride. According to his military records, Malvin was an asset to the U.S. Army. After serving in the military for over 20 years, Malvin received an honorable discharge as Sargent First Class in 1984.
He remained in Europe, where he met his current wife, Corina Connolly. Malvin was a caring and thoughtful person. He believed in helping others. He loved his family and showed it in various generous ways. Malvin had a zest and zeal for life. One of his many outreach efforts was helping in his church soup kitchen. He was the “life of the party”, with a crazy and infectious laugh, known among his siblings as “The Oldest”. He will be dearly missed. Malvin is preceded in death by his aforementioned parents; sister, Carol Falcon; parents-in-law, Thomas and Maureen Connolly; and brother-in-law, Tommy Connolly.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife of 30 years, Corina Jones; his sons, Malvin Edward Jones, Jr., Patrick Willie (Julia) Jones both of Germany and Aric Thomas Jones of Pine Bluff, AR; his daughter, Ashley Shannon Jones of Little Rock, AR; his grandchildren, Izzy Jones, Alana Thomas, Amaya Jones, Emma Jones, Aric Jones, Jr., Adonis Saine and Kyro Saine and a special caregiver, Cora Allen.
He is also survived by his brothers: Stephen Brown, Kenneth (Donna) Brown, Richard Byers and Roy Hunter; his sisters: Cheryl Handley, Harriett Dixon, Cassandra Brown, Adrian (Willie) Garmon, Renee Byers, Louisa Brown and Patrice (Tony) Fisher. Malvin’s love extended deeply to his many nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in his heart as well as a host of cousins and friends.
Though his earthly journey has ended, Malvin’s legacy of love, faith, compassion, and joy will continue to live through the countless lives he touched.
