Lizzie Lee Betts was born November 20, 1935 in Clarendon, Arkansas to Rufus Cooperwood and Van Yeates. She gained her wings on March 29, 2026 at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, Arkansas with family by her side.
She attended school in Clarendon before moving to Stuttgart. She accepted Christ at an early age in Clarendon.
Lizzie was united in holy matrimony to the late James “Club” Betts, Sr. To this union, ten children were born. She was a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys and deeply loved her family.
She was preceded in death by the aforementioned parents, two daughters Lizzie Mae Betts and Ollie Betts, one son Linnie Burns, one sister Thelma Smith, one brother Floyd Yeates, and two great grandsons Kenzell Hobbs and Devorick Von Johnson, Jr.
Lizzie leaves to cherish her memories three sons Reverend James Betts III of Little Rock, AR, Rufus Betts and Venal Sims, both of Stuttgart, AR; six daughters Geraldine Betts of Little Rock, AR (formerly of Stuttgart), Flora (William) McPherson of Stuttgart, AR, Janice Betts-Dabner of Little Rock, AR, Armer (Lawrence) Burns of Grand Blanc, MI, Vanessa Betts of Oxford, MS, and Martha (Antonio) Green of Little Rock, AR; two sisters Lucy Cooperwood and Norma Cooperwood, both of Brinkley, AR; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
