Linda Faye Jones Smith, 68, of Jonesboro passed away January 1, 2026. She was born November 2, 1957, in DeWitt to Henry and Mattie Marie Fread Jones.
Linda married Richard Smith on September 3, 1977, in DeWitt and they celebrated 48 years together. Linda loved to garden and have her hands in the dirt working or planting. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Being Nana was one of her favorite things!
Linda was a member of Bay First Baptist Church and attended with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Mattie Jones and her brothers Edward and Larry Jones.
Linda is survived by her husband Richard Smith; her children Jessica Smith of Jonesboro, David Smith (Brooke) of Gallatin, TN, and Bobbi Boyce (William) of Jonesboro; two grandchildren Avery and Kylar; on brother Gary Jones of Almyra; and three sisters Nancy Maffitt of Memphis, Nellie Waltz of Almyra, and Betty Jones of DeWitt.
Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 7 at Essex Funeral Home with funeral services beginning at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Cedarcrest Memorial Gardens.
