1946-2025
On the 11th of May 2025, we bid farewell to a remarkable woman, Linda Darlene Merriman, who left this earthly realm to join her Lord in eternal peace. Born on April 29, 1946, in the small town of Molton, Alabama, Linda graced our lives with her kindness, faith, and devotion to family. Her journey through life was infused with love for her Savior and cherished moments with her family.
Linda was a woman of many interests, finding joy in camping, fishing, and creating lasting memories with her loved ones. She also loved watching good love stories. Her enthusiasm for life and her ability to spread joy through her laughter were truly blessings to all who knew her. Linda's deep faith in God was the foundation of her existence, guiding her through the trials and triumphs that life brought her way. She was a faithful member of the Way of the Cross Church in Kensett, where she sang in the choir.
She leaves behind a loving family who will forever hold her memory dear. Her daughters, Wanda Woodward and her husband Ray and Rosemary Mahoney, and her son, Russell Merriman and his wife Kim, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren carry forward her legacy of love and faith. Linda also is survived by her cherished sisters, Christine Montgomery, Clista Burden, Betty Legg and Diane Vinson.
Linda’s spirit is now reunited with those who have gone before her. She is welcomed into the arms of her beloved husband, Russell Franklin Merriman, Sr., and her parents, Johny and Rosie Burden. Linda is also reunited with her siblings who have preceded her in death: Nell Burden, Joyce Bennett, James Burden, Arthur "Buddy" Burden, Bertha Lee Fagen, and Bonnie Pullen.
A visitation will be held on May 15, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00 PM, both at Cole Funeral Home located at 111 Wilbur D Mills Ave, Kensett, Arkansas.
Though we grieve the loss of Linda, we take comfort in the profound faith that she shared with us and the promise of reunion one day in Heaven. Her light continues to shine brightly in the hearts of those she loved, reminding us to cherish each moment and seek the joy in our lives as she did.
