2002-2026
Leenah Jana Diane Wiggins was born August 12, 2002, in Oak Lawn, Illinois. Second and last-born daughter to Janet Kay Easterling-Wiggins and Calvin Wiggins Sr. Leenah leaves behind her sister, Neenah Wiggins of this union.
Leenah was born with only three months to live, was surrounded by love and prayer from day one. Through this prayer and love, Leenah lived 23 joyous years. Each year was another miracle. A miracle she was. It was said that Leenah would not be able to see or hear. Leenah could not only hear, but she could also tell who you were by the sound of your footsteps. She could also hear a bag of chips open as you sneak you a few in the next room. A miracle. The doctors said she wouldn’t be able to see. She could see the McDonald’s sign from a mile away. A miracle she was. Leenah was also a trickster because she was also quick to act like she could not hear you. That was our miracle. Witty, bold, intelligent, caring, intuitive, funny, and loving are just a few words to describe such a brilliant soul.
Leenah had a passion for fashion and music. She loved coordinating an outfit and wearing her jewelry. She loved to sing and dance. From Beyoncé and Michael Jackson to the Lion King Soundtrack, Leenah loved to belt a tune. She loved movies and was a whizz at playing Uno. Everyone who met her loved her. Leenah touched many hearts. She inspired lives. Her joy was infectious.
Leenah was preceded in death by her grandfather James C. Donelson and three aunts; Sandra Easterling, Jessica Easterling and Jesse Easterling.
Leenah leaves to cherish her memory; her mother Janet Kay Easterling, her father Calvin Wiggins Sr., her sister Neenah Wiggins (Antonio Wilson Jr.), her grandmother Bertha (Dunbar) Donelson, her Aunts Pamela Minard (Robert Minard), Angela Easterling, and Breshenda Easterling, her Uncles Charles Easterling and Darnell Easterling, her honorary siblings Breena Easterling, Gary Easterling, and Aviar Easterling, honorary aunt LaSonya Dunbar, and a host of many more family and friends. She will always be a part of our lives and in our hearts. In loving memory…
