Judy Faye Mullis Clower, 78
1946-2025

Judy Faye Mullis Clower, 78, of McGehee, Arkansas, passed away on Monday, May 20, 2025, at CHI St. Vincent’s Hospital in Hot Springs surrounded by her family. Born in Florence on August 30, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Kennon Walter (KW) and Mary Youngblood Mullis.

Judy graduated from McGehee High School in 1964 and then received her degree in Education from Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia. She briefly lived in Florida, where she worked as a business teacher.

Upon returning to McGehee, she met and subsequently married the love of her life, John Thomas Clower, Jr. She then obtained her real estate license. Together, they began Clower Real Estate Company, which they operated in McGehee for over four decades. She and John later opened a real estate management company, CAMCO, having purchased multiple commercial and residential properties, which they leased to tenants in both McGehee and Hot Springs.

An avid antique furniture lover, taking pride in restoring family heirlooms and giving new life to forgotten pieces. She was also passionate about gardening. Her amaryllis blooms were a springtime highlight, and she loved sharing bulbs with friends so they could enjoy the same beauty.

She was more than just sweet and loving- she was a force of nature. With a spark in her eye and a spirit that refused to be dimmed, she brought attitude, warmth, and truth to every room she entered. She told it like it was, stood firm in what she believed, and somehow balanced fierce independence with a heart full of love.

Her sass, sharp wit, and perfectly timed one-liners will be missed almost as much as the comfort of her embrace. She had a way of making people laugh, think, and feel seen- all in a single sentence. She was truly one of a kind. To have known her was to witness strength wrapped in compassion, and to carry even a flicker of her fire is a gift we’ll hold close forever.

Judy’s greatest love- and her proudest achievement- was her family: her husband, son, and granddaughter. She would go to the ends of the earth to support them, and her devotion was unmatched.

In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John T. Clower, and her brother, Sammy Mullis.

She is survived by her son, Paul T. Clower, and granddaughter, Kathryn “Katie” Clower, both of Hot Springs, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at First Baptist Church in McGehee, with funeral services beginning at 11:00 AM. Rev. Keith Thomas will officiate. Interment will follow at McGehee Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Charles Knobloch, Chris Staudy, Wayne Leek, David Leech, Hub Gaston, and Steve French.

Memorials may be made to Paws and Claws of McGehee or St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis.
