Joshua Louis Sloate, beloved infant son of Jordan and Kaylie Sloate, was born June 2, 2026, at home in Vilonia, Arkansas. He passed peacefully surrounded by family and friends on July 6, 2026. During his short stay here, he was loved dearly by his parents, grandparents, great-grandmas, aunts, uncles, cousins and a great host of family and friends. Our little angel may have left this world too soon but will forever live in our hearts.
Joshua was preceded in death by his great-grandparents Johnny and Juanita Sloate and great-grandfathers Estel Fisher and Frank Chapman, great-grandma Bernice Fisher.
Joshua is survived by his loving parents, Jordan and Kaylie Sloate of Vilonia, AR, his great-grandmother, Ninnie (Linda Fisher) of DeWitt, AR, great-grandmother, Mamaw Tawanna (Virgil) Neal of Henryetta, OK, Papaw and Nana (Harvey and Melissa Sloate) of Mt. Vernon, AR, Papa and Mimi (Rodney and Amanda Fisher) of DeWitt, AR, Uncle Calvin and Aunt Ashley Sloate of DeWitt, AR, Aunt Rachel and Uncle Colton Young of Jefferson, AR, Uncle Darius and Aunt Brittney Sloate of Damascus, AR, Uncle Dakota Sloate of Mt. Vernon, AR, Aunt Ding-Ding (Lynsie Fisher) of DeWitt, AR and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. July 10 at Essex Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. July 11 at the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn in DeWitt. Burial will follow in Thompson Cemetery.
