John Henry (Pete) Cargile, 84, of New Edinburg, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at St. Vincent in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born January 29, 1942, in Jackson, Mississippi to the late Homer and Fannie Cargile.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Jean Cargile and his 3 brothers.
He is survived by his two sons, Michael Dewayne Cargile (Connie), John David Cargile (Lara) both of New Edinburg, Arkansas, his adopted son Anthony Dalsanto (Susan) of Mississippi, his 8 grandchildren, Heather Brown, John Graef, Jaclyn Washington, Adam Holley, Megan Cargile, Natalie Wilson, Marie Lane, Nathan Otwell, and 16 great grandchildren.
He was a member and deacon of Mt. Lebanon Missionary Baptist Church of New Edinburg, Arkansas.
He retired from Potlatch of Warren, Arkansas on January 31, 2007, after 32 years of dedicated employment. He later retired from Kingsland Schools.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and a great friend to everyone he met.
