Joe Tony Wynn, 94, of Star City, passed away Sunday, February 15, 2026 at his home. He was born to the late Robert and Essie Morrison Wynn on March 16, 1931 in Lincoln County, AR.
Joe was a serviceman with Sears for many years. He was of the Baptist faith and loved to hunt, fish and cook. Joe was an Air Force Veteran of the Koren War. He was a member of the American Legion, past Commander of American Legion Post 37 in Star City, past Commander of American Legion District 9, past Commander of American Legion executive committee District 9, past Vice Commander of the Arkansas State American Legion, and a lifetime member of the V.F.W. He was a former Lincoln County Deputy Sherriff under Billy Bert French, Lincoln County Justice of the Peace, and was once a Scout Master for the Boy Scouts of America Troop 46.
Also preceding him in death was his wife Doris Faye Wynn, son, Mike Wynn, granddaughter, Ashley Wynn, Daughter in law, Sandra Kay Wynn, four brothers, Robert Wynn, Roy Wynn, Harvey Wynn, and James Wynn, sister, Lillie May Burns, and nephew/brother, James “Sonny” Burns.
Survivors include his son, Clay Wynn (Jenny Sue) of Star City, daughter, Toni Stephens of Star City, daughter in law, Allison Wynn of Hot Springs, sister, Sally Thomas of Picayune, MS, six grandchildren, Scott Wynn, Clayton Wynn, Allie Cox, Kenny Stephens, Adaline Stephens, Joe Stephens, and four great grandchildren, Declan Wynn, Torcan Lowry, Brannaugh Lowry, and Lillianna Holmes.
Graveside visitation will be held Sunday, February 22, 2026 at 1:30 PM at Drake Cemetery with graveside to follow at 2:00 PM with Bro. Elmer Byerly officiating. Pallbearers are Scott West, Clayton Wynn, Christian Cox, Harry Camp, Vic Harper, Bobby Wynn, Scott Wynn, and Johnny Henley. Honorary pallbearers are Justin Johnson and the Cane Creek Road crew, Johnny Pevey, Turk Morgan, and David Rauls.
