Jim Webb, 88
1937-2026

James (Jim) Clifton Webb, 88, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2026. Born on December 23, 1937, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Jim was the only child of Arthur Clifton Webb and Stella Knickerbocker Webb, and he spent his life grounded in the values of family, faith, and steady devotion.

Jim graduated from Grady High School in 1956 and went on to attend Arkansas A&M, earning a degree in Industrial Education in 1959. On August 24, 1958, he married Dixie Eagle, the girl he had known since fifth grade. Their love story—rooted in friendship, loyalty, and shared history—grew into a beautiful life together.

Jim and Dixie made their home in Pine Bluff, where Jim worked for International Paper Company for 40 years. He retired in January 2000, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, reliability, and pride in providing for his family.

Above all, Jim was a family man. He showed his love through his presence—coaching girls’ softball, attending countless dance recitals, and wholeheartedly supporting his children in all they pursued. In later years, he found deep joy in the lives of his four grandchildren, taking genuine interest in their activities and celebrating them with the same steady encouragement he had always given.

Jim was a Master Mason and a devoted member of the Pine Bluff Masonic Lodge #69, the Sahara Shrine, and the Royal Order of Jesters. Through these organizations, he and Dixie formed lifelong friendships and built treasured memories that remained close to their hearts.

Jim was an avid sports fan. He rooted for the Razorbacks in all sports. He was always excited for Razorback men’s basketball and was devoted to the King Cotton Classic each year in Pine Bluff.

He also appreciated life’s quieter moments—the peace of an afternoon overlooking the lake, or the simple satisfaction of whittling a block of cedar. Jim never needed much to be content; he found beauty in calm, meaningful routines and the people he loved.

Jim was a faithful member of Lakeside United Methodist Church, where he was a longtime member of the Wesley Sunday School Class.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Clifton Webb and Stella Knickerbocker Webb. He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Dixie Eagle Webb; his son, Michael Webb (Leslie); his daughters, Lisa Hunter (Jeff) and Beth Burgess (Mike); his cherished grandchildren, Mleah Webb Murphy (Chris), Courtney Hunter Hanberry (Jordan), Anna Claire Hunter Vocque (Taylor), Miles Burgess, and Matt Hart; and his treasured great-grandchildren, Gwyneth Murphy, Ruby Murphy, and Chandler James Vocque.

Pallbearers will be Miles Burgess, Chris Murphy, Jordan Hanberry, Taylor Vocque, Ken Scott, and Jerry Weilacher. Honorary pallbearers are George Pickler, Bill Koonce, and Archie Neal.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Trinity Village Medical Center and Affinity Hospice for their care, compassion, and kindness.

A visitation will be held at the chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, on May 12, 2026, from 1:00–2:00 p.m., with the funeral service immediately following at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Lakeside United Methodist Church (1500 S Olive Street, Pine Bluff, Arkansas 71601) or Shriners Children’s Hospital (www.shrinerschildrens.org).
