Jesse Ray Nelson, 37

Jesse Ray Nelson of Sheridan, Arkansas was born December 22, 1987 in Pine Bluff, the son of Tommy R Nelson and June Thompson. He was a graduate of Sheridan High School and Culinary School 3D Program from Pulaski Tech. He was baptized at Cornerstone Church in Woodson Lateral. He was an Eagle Scout which he was very proud of. He enjoyed fishing, food, electronics, and calling his mother several times a day. He never met a stranger and he was loved by all who knew him.

Jesse was an organ donor. He would be so proud to know he had helped someone.

He was also affectionately known as Uncle Dude or Jesse Bear.

Jesse died Thursday, April 17, 2025 at Small Group Home in Hot Springs at the age of 37.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Beulah and Coyt Thompson and Geraldine Bailey.

Survivors: mother and best friend, June Thompson of Sheridan; brother, David Nguyen (Robin) of Plano, Texas; sister, Shaunda Reap of Sheridan, April Hickerson of Devall’s Bluff, Katherine Kelly of Sheridan, Jennifer Rodriguez (Jim) of Fredericksburg, VA; grandfather, Leonard Nelson; and a host of nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews and many friends.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with visitation from 1:00 until service time with Bro. Paul Roberts, Bro. Dennis Holmes officiating. Burial will follow at Providence Cemetery near Sheridan.

Pallbearers are Clay Crutchfield, Dustin Reap, Dylan Reap, Wayne Fisher, Mason Fisher and Chad Breeding.

Honorary pallbearers are Donald Crutchfield, Bud Rice, and Braylyn Graves.
