1954-2026

Jerry D. Miller, Sr. (72), of Fountain Hill, Arkansas was a devoted father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, was a tireless worker, a true backbone to his family, departed this life surrounded by his loving family at his home.
Jerry was born to the parentage of Lewis Edward III and Bobbie Jean Grays-Miller March 2, 1954, in Fountain Hill, AR. He is one of eleven children from this union and the 2nd set of fraternal twins.

Jerry mastered the art of cooking, his specialties were greens, yams, and family favorite baby back ribs. He also loved gardening-tomatoes, watermelon etc. His weekend hobby was working on race cars, then later buying and flipping trucks and cars. His favorite sports included football, basketball and of course attending race car shows. He also found joy with his other hobbies deer/squirrel hunting, fishing, and riding his side-by-side. At the end of the day, you could always find him at home catching up on watching his favorite western tv shows.

He was a graduate of Fountain Hill High School.

Jerry was employed with Ashley & Drew Northern (AD&N) & (ALM) Railroad as a diesel mechanic and later promoted to a high-level management position. He became self-employed under Mille logging for a successful 15 years. After over 35 years of dedicated service to the railroad, he deceived to retire.

ALM Railroad - Retirement didn't slow down the bonds Jerry formed with his railroad colleagues-Mr. David, Steven and others. He looked forward to their frequent lunch outings and road trips across SE Arkansas.

Texaco - Fountain Hill - Some of Jerry's happiest retirement days were spent at the Texaco with a good cup of coffee in hand alongside his beloved brother, Bobby Ray. They solved the world's problems debating politics, sports and sharing hunting / fishing stories.

Patriot Fuel Stop - Monticello Jerry could be found regularly hanging with his crew at the truck stop along with his brothers-in-law, Sammy and Gene. He made sure he always got him and his great grandson Macien each a honey bun for later.

Jerry was proceeded in death by his daughter, Nicole Leann Miller-Cook (2020); parents Lewis Edward II (1974) and Bobbie Jean Grays-Miller (2017); fraternal twin sister, Cathy Lanell Miller (2025); brothers-Louis Edward Miller III (2003); Dwain Lee Miller (1999); Charles L. Miller (1984) and Jimmy Ray Miller (1958); nephew: Antwan Miller (2002); maternal grandparents; Roy Grays (1975) and Maggie Ingram-Grays (1945) ;and paternal grandparents Lewis I and Molly Miller (unknown).

He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Mae Lee Simpson Miller; son, Jerry Miller Jr, granddaughter, Mariya Miller, Saleah and Jayvion Parks, great grandsons, Macien Miller; great granddaughter, Sky Parks and (2) other grandchildren all of Monticello, AR; one brother, Bobby Ray Miller (Gwen); sisters, Lillie Jean Simpson, Monticello, AR; Barbara Ann Hamilton, Fountain Hill, AR; Melinda Miller and Lecinda Miller both of Dallas, TX; like sons, Jarvis Miller (Fountain Hill, AR and Jimmy Ray Miller Crossett, AR; one aunt, Gracie Grays-Matheney, Los Angeles, CA. Host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside services will be Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in Lacey Cemetery in Lacey, Arkansas.
