Jason Charles McKewen, 47, passed away April 12, 2026. He was born September 3, 1978, in Stuttgart to Pat and Neva Adams McKewen
Jason grew up in DeWitt and loved playing baseball and pitching. He always loved cars and even as a small child could identify any car. Jason graduated from DeWitt High School in 1996 and attended Ouachita Baptist University before going to UAMS to complete his doctorate of pharmacy degree.
Jason always loved people and had a sense of adventure. He was always ready to try new things.
He was preceded in death by his father Pat McKewen, and his grandparents Charles and Malee McKewen and Norval and Belle Adams.
Jason is survived by his mother Neva McKewen, his sons Hudson and Sullivan "Sully" McKewen, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be from 12:00-1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 15 at Essex Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at DeWitt Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to DeWitt Cemetery, c/o Boyd & Buie, 308 Court Square, DeWitt, AR 72042 or the Pat McKewen Scholarship, c/o PCC-UA, 1210 Ricebelt Ave., DeWitt, AR 72042.
