James Greg Smith 69, of Dumas, Arkansas passed away June 4, 2026, in Little Rock, Arkansas. Greg was born, May 19, 1957, in Dumas, Arkansas to the late James William (J.W.) and Betty J. Brooks Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Debbie and Sue.
Greg was a member of Rankin Chapel Baptist Church in Dumas. He was member of Gould Hunting Club where he loved the outdoors and hunting. Greg farmed for many years, that was his way of life that he enjoyed. When he wasn’t farming or hunting, he loved playing with his grandkids and spending time with his family. He especially liked to watch his kids and grandkids play sports.
He is survived by his loving wife Jackie Smith, three daughters, Mandy Petersen of Hot Springs, AR, Brandy Smith of Star City, AR and Jamie (Chris) Childress of Bauxite, AR, one sister, Linda Kay Storey of Little Rock, AR, ten grandchildren, Megan, MaKayla, Alexis, Mason, Bryce, Blayne, Toni, Madison, Alex and Nicole and seven great grandchildren, Cooper, Salem, Blade, Avery, Gunner, Annamae and Maxton.
Visitation will be Sunday, June 7, 2026, from 3:00-5:00pm and service Monday, June 8, 2026, at 2:00pm both at Griffin Funeral Home, Dumas, AR with Rev. Jerry Rawson and Rev. Michael Smith officiating and burial Dark Corner Cemetery.
