Gene Hartsfield, 76, of Pine Bluff, was a proud United States Veteran who loved his country, family and the outdoors.
He passed away Thursday, January 8, 2026.
Born Marvin Gene Hartsfield December 12, 1949, in Pine Bluff, he was a son of Franklin Rufus Hartsfield and Jewell Worthey Hartsfield.
Gene was reared and received his early education in Pine Bluff, graduating from Pine Bluff High School.
He served in the United States Air Force in Tactical Air Command during Vietnam.
Gene was of Methodist faith and was a member of the former Good Faith Carr United Methodist Church.
He worked as a spokesperson for Citizens Against Crime.
Along with his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his sister, Brenda Hartsfield Wooten.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Jones Hartsfield, whom he married December 5, 2003 in Pine Bluff; two daughters, Traci Carter (Darrell) and Leigh Ann Johnson (Curtis); step-son, Joe Clark; two brothers, Curtis Hartsfield (Carol) and Larry Hartsfield (Linda); sister, Dottie McDaniel; five grandchildren, Tyler, Marissa, Makenna (Zack), Maddie and Emily; one great-grandchild, Emry; and two sisters-in-law, Donna Robinson (Dennis) and Enola McDonald (Rick).
A private gathering will take place at a later date.
