1949-2026
GB Davis was born on October 29, 1949, to Cammie Davis and Gladys (Pete) Brown in Leland, MS. GB accepted Christ into his life at an early age. He was a devoted member of Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Kevin Crumpton Sr until his passing.
GB attended Breisch High School and was a proud graduate of the Class of 1968. He continued his education at AM&N where he obtained his Bachelor of Science in 1972. He later attained his Masters of Education from UAPB in 2000.
Upon graduation, GB gained employment at the Boys and Girls Club where he enjoyed making a positive impact on young males. In 1975, he began his career in corrections at Cummins Department of Corrections. He later moved to the Pine Bluff Unit where he was the Principal of The Department of Pine Bluff Complex until his retirement in June of 2025.
GB was an avid sports fan. He loved baseball and football. For many years, he served as an umpire and referee in local games. GB was also a family man. You would often hear him say, “I love my family.” He was a great friend and father figure to many.
GB is proceeded in death by his wife Muriel Elaine White Davis, mother Cammie Davis, father Gladys (Pete) Brown, Grandmother Alice Clark, and brothers Lonzo, Floyd, Lee, and Willie Earl Davis.
GB leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Katina Davis of Little Rock, sisters Mary Davis of Chicago, Flora Davis, Hurtisteen Brown, Mavis Brown all of Leland, Angela Warren of Lake Charles, brothers Alvin Zanders (Katherine) of Pine Bluff, John Davis (Darnestine) of Indianola, Cedric Brown (Lenda), Darryl Brown (Paula), Michael Williams (Margret) all of Greenville, Marcus Brown (Brenda) of Lake Charles, special friend, Dorothy Gant of Pine Bluff, cousin Della Stanford of Memphis, godchildren, Jeremy Rainey (Brandy) of Little Rock, Chanta Pullium (Jeff) of Pine Bluff as well as a hosts of nieces, nephews, and longtime friends.
Visitation 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Brown Funeral Home Pine Bluff, AR.
Funeral Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2026, Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church, Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Pastor Kevin L. Crumpton, Sr. officiating. Interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Pine Bluff, Arkansas by Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff, AR.
