1935-2025
James Frederic (Freddy) Harrington of Prattsville, Arkansas was born May 31, 1935 in Prattsville, the son of the late Glen and Agnes Harrington. He died at his home on May 18, 2025 at the age of 89.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years Suda Mae Pumphrey Harrington.
He was a member and deacon of Harmony Missionary Baptist Church in Prattsville. Freddy worked for Sherwin Williams and Arkla Gas Company before spending most of his working career as co-owner of Sheridan Truck Line with his cousin, Franklin Pumphrey. He also served in the national guard for seven years. Among his many hobbies were hunting, fishing, and hosting the Friday night Hootenany at Prattsville since 2008.
He is survived by his sons, Brian (Karen) Harrington of Prattsville and Darryl (Sondra) Harrington of Hot Springs; grandchildren, Amy and Erin Harrington, Alaina (Alex) Holmes, Wyatt and Makenna Mae Harrington; great grandson, James Holmes, and a dear friend Pauline Harrington.
Graveside service will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at Philadelphia Cemetery in Prattsville with Bro. Calvin Holmes officiating. Visitation is at Harmony Missionary Baptist Church on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 from 5:00-7:00 PM.
