Floyd William Thompson, age 71, of Pine Bluff, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 29, 2025.
A lifelong resident of Pine Bluff, he was born April 2, 1954, a son of the late Ellison William Thompson and Frances Greenway Thompson. For several years, he worked as a supervisor at Brenda’s Portable Toilets and retired as a security guard at Wal-Mart after 17 years of service.
Mr. Thompson was a member of Cornerstone Apostolic Church and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and working in his yard. His favorite job was taking care of his grandchildren and attending their sporting events.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Sue Thompson and a bonus grandchild, Alex Brawdy.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa Light Thompson, whom he married on November 7, 1974; his children, Kim Parker (Scott) of Redfield, Matthew Thompson (Charlotte) of Pine Bluff, Nathan Thompson (Dea) of Donaldson, and Don Light of Little Sioux, Iowa; a brother, Thomas Thompson of White Hall; a sister, April Thompson Tolly of Austin, Texas; grandchildren, Alexis Harding (Mason), Michael Thompson, Gavin Parker, Aubrey Parker, Callie Thompson, Aaliyah Thompson, Trinity Thompson, Mercedes Johnson, Gannon Johnson, Don Light, Jr., and Abigail Light; a great-grandson, Oliver Harding; bonus grandchildren, Dakota Brawdy, Alyssa Odom, Bentlee Chaney, and Brittany Garrison; and bonus great-grandchildren, Victoria Brawdy and Rylie Hygail. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, May 2, 2025 from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Robinson & Fuller White Hall Chapel. Mr. Thompson’s funeral service will be held on Saturday, at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Justin Reinking officiating. Burial will be in Cypress Memorial Gardens.
