Ellen Cross Nichol, age 71, of Pine Bluff, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 3, 2026.
Born in Pine Bluff on March 16, 1955, she was the daughter of the late Currin McNairy Nichol, Jr. and June Carolynn Cross Nichol. She was a graduate of Pine Bluff High School and the University of Arkansas, where she was a member of Chi Omega.
A lifelong member of Trinity Episcopal Church, she loved animals, reading, and Sissy’s Log Cabin. She was an active Friend of Bill’s, and her loving actions helped many others along their journey.
Ellen was a beloved English teacher who touched the lives of many students at both the high school and university levels.
Survivors include her siblings, Currin M. Nichol, III, MD and Marie Nichol Naas; several nieces and nephews; and a close circle of friends, including Pam Farrar, Martha Quinn, Pam O’Brien, and Chris Manson.
Ellen’s memorial service will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026, 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church with the Rev. Herman Browne officiating. All are invited to a reception in the parish hall following the service featuring many of Ellen’s favorite foods.
