Effie Jaunita Nickolson, 72 of Texarkana, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2026. Born on September 24, 1953, in Tillar, Arkansas. Her parents Cliford and Mrytle Hawkins, brother Jesse Hawkins and sister Wilma Shaw, all preceded her in death.
Juanita was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, sister, and faithful friend. Her life centered around her deep love for her family and her faith. She was a dedicated member of Eylau Church of Christ and found great joy in spending time with those she loved most.
She enjoyed camping, traveling, playing cards, and cooking for family gatherings. Juanita had a warm spirit and caring heart that made everyone feel welcome. The memories she created with family and friends will be treasured for years to come.
Survivors are her loving husband, George Nikolson, two sons, James Nickolson and his wife Jennifer, and Kevin Nickolson, grandchildren Jermery Cutrell and his wife Shelby, Sara Dawson and her husband Grisha, and Anna Thornton, two brothers, Cecil Hawkins and Adrian Hawkins and sister Wanda Massey, along with many other family members and friends who will dearly miss her.
Visitation and funeral service to be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Griffin Funeral Home, visitation from 1-2pm, services are 2pm with Jerry Dickinson officiating and burial following in Jefferson Cemetery.
Memorials in Memory of Juanita may be made to any hospice of donor’s choice. Juanita will be remembered for her kindness, strong faith, and the love shared so freely with her family and friends.
