1935-2025
Dorthy Young Panell, age 89, a resident of White Hall for over 60 years, passed away April 26, 2025.
Born October 24, 1935 at Dutch Creek (Yell County), Arkansas, she was a daughter of the late George Young and Minnie Shepherd Young. She grew up in Carden Bottoms, McGehee and Sherill.
She had worked as a loom operator at Pinecrest Cotton Mills and took care of children at Terry’s Tots for over ten years.
Mrs. Panell was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God in Sheridan.
She married Ellis Myrl Panell on September 19, 1953 and he preceded her in death on October 24, 2017. She was also predeceased by all of her siblings, Irvin, Leroy, Bob, J. D., and John A. Panell, Orthy Gossage, Naomi Young, Versie Young, Lena Young, and an infant brother.
Survivors include her son, Harold Wayne Panell (Denitia); her grandchildren, Lea Michelle Brewer (David) and John Amos Panell (Sommer Throgmorton); and her great-grandchildren, Wyatt Steele Brewer and Sawyer Wayne Brewer.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 30, 2025, beginning at 9:30 a.m. at Robinson & Fuller White Hall Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Jackie Jones officiating. Burial will be in Flat Bayou Cemetery at Altheimer.
Memorials may be made in the form of childcare supplies given to Terry Tot’s Daycare.
