Donna spent her early life traveling with her parents around the United States as her father worked in pipeline construction. She traveled until she about to begin high school. She enrolled in Mt. St. Mary's Academy in Little Rock, where she graduated in 1951.
Donna worked at the Corp of Engineers and later became the first female park ranger in the Pine Bluff District. She then served as a clerk with the postal service.
She attended Gillett United Methodist Church for many years and was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Stuttgart.
She enjoyed crocheting and painting. Donna and her husband also enjoyed traveling many places to square dance.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Alfred Workman, her daughter, Lillie Ann Crossland, and her son-in-law, Tom Crossland.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Barnett of Gillett; her grandchildren, Casey McCrotty (Zach), Amanda Hemphill (Wade), Cole Crossland (Julie), and Kimberly Kahle (Hutch); and her great grandchildren Judd and Merritt McCrotty, Wyatt and Grayson Hemphill, Lillie Jean and Walker Crossland, and Hadley and Eryn Kahle.
A service will be held at Essex Funeral Home in DeWitt, AR, April 3, 2026 at 10:00am. Burial will follow at the Gillett Cemetery.
