David Wayne Sanchez, born on June 20, 1961, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, passed away on February 21, 2026, at UAMS in Little Rock, Arkansas. He leaves behind a legacy characterized by hard work, love for family, and a passion for the great outdoors.
David dedicated much of his professional life as an Iron Worker, with his longest tenure being at Saline Steel. Outside of work David was an avid outdoorsman, he loved and took any opportunities he could to be in the woods or on the water casting a line. David also enjoyed gardening and cooking, but more than anything he loved spending time with his family. David was a simple man whose impact on his loved ones will last for years to come, reminding them all of the importance of family, hard work, and a life well-lived.
David is survived by his wife, Karla Sanchez; his sons, Tony Sanchez and Shane Sanchez; and his mother, Margaret Sanchez. He was also grandfather to six grandchildren, Breanna, Colton, Alexis, Rylan, Isabella, and Paisley, who were a source of great pride and joy in his life. He is also survived by his brother, Michael Sanchez. David was preceded in death by his father, Jessie Sanchez, and his nephew, Michael Chad Sanchez.
The impact David had on his loved ones will last for years to come, reminding them all of the importance of family, hard work, and a life well-lived.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday February 26, 2026, at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Sheridan with interment to follow at Lost Creek Cemetery also in Sheridan. Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. until service time.
