Carl Allen Wells, 51, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas passed away Monday March 9, 2026 at CHI St. Vincent in Little Rock, AR. He was born on June 28, 1974 in Pine Bluff to Katie Kinley Powell.
Carl was a proud father of two sons, Buck and Hunter Wells, who were the center of his life and his greatest source of pride. He left behind a legacy of dedication, kindness, and service to his family and community. A longtime resident of Pine Bluff, Carl was known throughout the community for his dedication to youth sports. He spent many years coaching basketball and baseball, investing countless hours mentoring young athletes. Carl believed deeply in the power of sports to shape character and create opportunities, and he worked tirelessly to help young people pursue college educations through athletics.
Beyond the field and court, Carl was known as a man who was always willing to lend a helping hand. Whether it was supporting a local family, mentoring a child, or encouraging someone through a difficult time. His generosity and compassion touched many lives.
Carl will be remembered as a devoted father, a loving son and brother, a proud uncle, a passionate coach, and a pillar of his community. His legacy will live on through the many young people he mentored, the lives he uplifted, and the family who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
Preceding him in death is his infant brother.
Carl was deeply devoted to his family. He is survived by his two sons, Buck Wells of McPherson, KS, and Hunter Wells of Jacksonville, AR, his loving parents, Katie Powell and John Powell both of Pine Bluff, his brother, William Wells (Jennifer) of Star City, one step-sister, Stephanie Powell Harrison of White Hall, two nephews, Brody Mosley and Zachary Wells, and three nieces, Hannah Wells, Kinsley Mosley, and Miracle Mosley.
His love for his family was constant, and he was always there with encouragement, guidance, and support.
