1950-2026
Brenda “Sue” (Hall) Lehr was born on December 7, 1950, in St. Louis, Missouri, the only daughter of William and Wilma (Walker) Hall. She grew up alongside her brothers, Dave and Don, and graduated from Roosevelt High School. While still in St. Louis, Sue married Raymond “Ray” Lehr, and together they eventually made their home in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
Sue devoted her life to caring for her family. Though she held a few jobs over the years, her greatest joy and primary role was as a homemaker. In every story shared, it is clear that Sue was a constant source of love and support. Her sons speak with deep love and admiration for the woman who guided them and helped shape them into the men they are today.
In her free time, Sue found happiness in painting landscapes, creating ceramic art, and collecting sea turtles. She also had a special love for animals and cherished the many pets she cared for throughout her life. Known for her stubborn streak, Sue was equally known for her warm and welcoming nature—she never met a stranger and was affectionately considered “Mom” by many beyond her own family.
Later in life, Sue embraced one of her most treasured roles: being a grandmother. Her grandchildren remember her as being loving, goofy, and always happy to see them. She greeted them with her signature warmth: “Hey, Dude, I love you. Give me a hug”—a phrase they will carry with them forever.
On March 22, 2026, after 75 years filled with love and family, Brenda “Sue” (Hall) Lehr passed away and was reunited with those who preceded her in death: her parents; her beloved husband, Ray Lehr; and her brother, Dave Hall.
She leaves behind a family who will forever hold her memories dear: her beloved sons with Ray, David Lehr (Rebecca Marks-Lehr) of Pine Bluff and Clifford “C.J.” Lehr (Chad McCantess, and Jake Glow) of Nashville, Tennessee; son from her previous marriage, Denis Schwent (Jennifer Schwent) of Pine Bluff; her brother, Don Hall of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; her cherished grandchildren, Sarah Evers, Holland Hopkins, Emilee Schwent, Austin Lungsford, Makayla Holbert-Chapman, Kendyl Lehr, and Elijah Wade; and her great-grandchildren, Noah Johnson and Oliver Evers. She is also lovingly remembered by a host of extended family members and dear friends.
Sue was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed. Her kindness, strength, and unwavering love touched all who knew her.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude for the prayers, support, and compassion shown during this difficult time.
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” – Joshua 1:9
