1941-2026
Brenda Gale Knoener, 84, of Star City, AR passed away Sunday, February 15, 2026, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center and went to her heavenly home. She was born to the late Daniel and Flora Bennett Chunn on May 24, 1941, in Munford, TN.
Brenda was of the Methodist faith. She began her career in banking at Union Planter in Memphis, TN. She carried on her career at the Bank of Star City and retired at the age of 73.
To know her was to love her. She loved people and never met a stranger. She always had a smile on her face and an outgoing personality. She truly was a selfless person. She had a love for many things; good food, good movies, and good music, but most of all the love she had for Elvis “The King,” and made many trips to Graceland throughout the years.
Thanks to all who were a part of her life and touched her heart with kindness, friendship, and love. I know she is smiling down on us all.
Also preceding her in death were her husband, A.H. “Pete” Knoener, who was truly the love of her life (besides Elvis).
Survivors include her loving daughter, Tonya Gale Knoener (Ronnie) of Star City, two brothers, Ricky Chunn (Margaret) of Munford, TN and Danny Chunn (Betty) of Mississippi, her lifelong best friend of 30 plus years, Wanda Paschall, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Griffin Funeral Service on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Graveside services will be Thursday, February 19, 2026, at 2:00 PM in Palmyra Cemetery with James “Jimmy” Hawkins officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to Alzheimer’s Arkansas, 201 Markham Center Drive, Little Rock, AR 72205.
