Billy Wayne Ragan, 90, passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2026, in Monticello, Arkansas. He was born on November 16, 1935, in Bradford, Arkansas, to the late Walter Earl Ragan and Mary Elizabeth Helms Hutto.
Billy was a devoted member of the Assembly of God faith and attended Watson Assembly of God. He spent many years serving his community as a maintenance supervisor for the public school system.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Cowen Ragan; son, Larry Ragan; two brothers, Lester Carrol Ragan and Ralph Ragan; two sisters, Lucille Roberts and Velma Jackson; and one great-grandchild, Ragan Hodge McDole.
Billy is survived by his son, Michael Wayne (Norma) Ragan of Rohwer; his sister, Betty Badgely of Lake Village; three grandchildren; Leah Muruffo, Casey Ragan, & Daniel Ragan five great-grandchildren; Lacey Layne Hodge, Madison Nolen, (Levi, Olivia, Hunter, Parker Ragan), Henry Murdoc, grand dog Sophie Grace Ragan, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at 5-7 pm Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in McGehee, AR. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, March 26, 2026, at Watson Assembly of God Church in Watson, AR with Pastor Roger Pierce and Sister Patty Posey officiating. Pallbearers will be Larry Tubbs, Donnie Doss, Randy Herring, Mark McElroy, Grady McElroy, and Ed Cloinger.
