Billy John “BJ” Grider, 79
1949-2026

Billy John "BJ" Grider passed away peacefully on April 12, 2026, in Hot Springs, AR.

He was born on October 17, 1946, in Fort Smith, AR, to Murrey and Janice (Huckaby) Grider. In 1964, he graduated from White Hall High School where he played football for the Bulldogs. He attended Henderson State University and was a member of the Phi Lambda Chi fraternity. After college, BJ went to work for the Cotton Belt-Southern Pacific Railroad until retirement in 1994.

BJ was an avid hunter and member of Bear House Hunting Club in Monticello, AR, he duck hunted at his favorite spot, Long Pond Access, fished in the White River, loved trips to Louisiana to fish for redfish and turkey hunting in Missouri. He loved boating and spending weekends at Lake Ouachita.

BJ was an amazing husband, father, uncle, and grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Vicky, his grandchildren, Dylan Yarbrough (Abby Grosch), Carson Yarbrough and Presley Yarborough; he was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Murrey and a son John Alan Yarborough.

A celebration of BJ's life will be held Friday, April 17, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. at Robinson & Fuller White Hall Chapel with Brother Ferrel West officiating.

Burial will be private at a later date.
