Billie Kathryn Doster (Kight), 93, of White Hall, AR, died Sunday, May 10, 2026, at Woodland Heights Senior Living in Little Rock. She was born April 28, 1933 in Kingsland, Arkansas, a daughter of the late Alva O. and Josephine Kight (Richardson). She graduated from White Hall High School and the University of Arkansas at Monticello, where she received a B.S. in education. Ms. Doster began her teaching career as a civilian employee of the Department of Defense teaching children of service members at U.S. military bases in Germany and Japan. Returning to Arkansas, she was a teacher briefly in Crossett before teaching in the Pine Bluff School District, where she enjoyed a long career. She was a member of Lakeside United Methodist Church, where she volunteered for many years, and an active member of Delta Kappa Gamma, a professional honorary society for women educators. Billie was a voracious reader, lover of classical music, and enjoyed every opportunity to gather with family.
Survivors include her son, Robert Doster and his wife Lisa of Arvada, CO; her brother James Kight and his wife D’Lane of Redfield and her brother Douglas Kight of Little Rock; two grandchildren, Kathryn Doster-Tipsword (Clay Center, KS) and Theo Doster (Boston, MA); and great grandchild, Colton Tipsword. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Doster, Jr., whom she married on July 24, 1961, at White Hall, her son, James Doster, and her sister, Shirley Furnatter (Kight).
Services will be 10:30 am, Friday, May 15, 2026, at Lakeside United Methodist Church with Reverend Sara Pair officiating by Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Directors. (online register: www.RobinsonFuller.com)
