Betty Louise Day Petrus, age 89, passed away Friday, May 8, 2026 at her home.
Born July 19, 1936 at DeVall’s Bluff, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late George Day and Ethel Odell Rogers Day. She graduated from DeVall’s Bluff High School.
A resident of Pine Bluff since 1967, she was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Altar Society, and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. Betty also was a dedicated worker at St. Joseph’s Spaghetti Supper and Fish Frys for many years.
She married Daniel Joseph Petrus on November 10, 1956, and he predeceased her on April 9, 2014. Her brother, Charles Day and her son-in-law, David Jackson also preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, David Petrus (Donna); three daughters, Cathy Rushing (Gary), Maria Jackson, and Dannette Petrus; five grandchildren, Jaret Rushing (Traci), Travis Rushing (Nikki), Haley Soo (Tyler), Hunter Petrus (Laura), and Danny Jackson; and seven great-grandchildren, John Mason Rushing, Madelynne Rushing, Jayden Rushing, Abby Rushing, Jaycie Rushing, Jackson Soo, and Nathan Soo.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 12, 2026 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Ralph Robinson & Son.
There will be a Rosary prayed on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The funeral mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. with Father Joseph Marconi and Deacon Noel F. “Bud” Bryant officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
