Barbara Ann Buzbee, age 83, passed away on May 9, 2025, in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was born on February 25, 1942, in Shelby County, Tennessee.
Barbara had a remarkable talent for writing poetry, a gift that earned her acceptance into the National Poets Society. Her words captured emotion with grace and honesty, leaving a lasting impression on all who read her work. In her early years, she was also a beautiful singer, performing with bands and appearing on both television and radio. Her voice was soulful and unforgettable.
She was a wonderful cook who found deep joy in preparing meals for her family. Her dishes nourished not only the body but the heart, and her kitchen was a place of love, laughter, and togetherness.
Barbara also enjoyed working in her yard, where she cultivated beautiful flowers that brought joy to all who passed by. Known for having one of the prettiest yards in the neighborhood, she found peace in tending to her blooms. She was an avid gardener and loved canning vegetables and fruits from her garden-always eager to share the fruits of her labor with family, friends, and even strangers.
Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved spouse, Raymond Buzbee Sr.
She is survived by her daughter, Monique Murphy, and husband John; Dean Brumley; and her sister, Helen McDermid. She also leaves behind a large and loving family of grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Trason Allen, Taylor Fife, Loy Fife Jr., Sena Hodges and husband Sean, Hunter Brumley, Deja Fife, Lilly Fife, Devin Thomas, River Sellers, Jase Hodges, Walker Hodges, Waylon Hodges, Connor Newton, Mike Joy, Kylie Joy, and D.J. Newton and wife Ashley.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at Campground Cemetery, 1554 Calhoun 126 Highway, Hampton, Arkansas. Arrangements are by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce/Hampton.
Barbara will be remembered for her creativity, warmth, generosity, and the deep love she gave to all those around her. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and cherished her.
