Alice Virginia McGehee, 97, of Star City passed away Saturday, March 7, 2026 at her home. Alice was born March 25, 1928 in Carrollton, MS to the late Gentry John ”Pawpaw” and Carrie May “Nanny” Gober Jackson. Mrs. McGehee was a homemaker and a member of Holly Springs Missionary Baptist Church. Alice enjoyed Gardening, tending her flowers, and generally being outdoors. She also loved to cook and spend time family, especially her grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death was her loving husband, Buford J McGehee, son in law, Donald Carr, two brothers; Junior Jackson, and Pervis Jackson, sister, Viola Lewis, and a grandson, Benjamin Joseph “Joey” Carr.
Survivors are two sons; Carl McGehee (Cathy) of Conway, Ronnie McGehee (Lisa) of Star City, daughter, Beverly Carr of Star City, eight grandchildren; Wendy Holcomb (Robert), Heather Totty (Clay), Joey Carr, Allan McGehee (Maureen), Leslie McGehee, Jeremy McGehee (Ally), Breanna Chambliss (Kevin), Maegan Brewer, and ten great grandchildren; Andrew, Sean, Jacey, Presley, Hunter, Kyleigh, Serenity, Saleen, Aveline, and Aria.
Visitation will be 1:00 to 2:00pm Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at Griffin Funeral Service in Star City. Funeral services will follow starting at 2:00pm. Bro Elwin Ollar will Officiate. Burial will be at Holly Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers are Allan McGehee, Jeremy McGehee, Hunter Brewer, Kevin Chambliss, Clay Totty, and Robert Holcomb.
