The Monticello Advertising and Promotion Commission addressed a vacancy at its most recent meeting.
According to the Advance Monticellonian newspaper, one position is open as the result of the resignation of Glenda Nichols.
Monticello City Attorney Whit Barton agreed to the idea that current commissioner Annette Taylor could be moved from the at-large spot and placed in the newly vacant tourism spot, opening the field of candidates who could apply.
At this time, the commission had no viable candidates for the position and were asked to bring the names of three potential candidates to the July meeting.
The next meeting of the commission will be at noon July 22.
