When it is completed, the hotel adjacent to the Pine Bluff Convention Center will be a Marriott Hotel.
Joseph McCorvey, the Executive Director of the Convention Center said it would cost between $20 and $22 million to tear down the existing plaza hotel and build the new Courtyard by Marriott.
Appearing on the Oldies 1013 morning show Thursday, McCorvey was asked where the money will come from.
Morning show host Greg Horne said that even though Marriott has given the approval to use their name, there are “still a lot of hoops to jump through” and McCorvey agreed.
He was also asked how the hotel when it is built, will benefit the convention center and responded this way.
