Drivers traveling through the Interstate 30 and Interstate 530 interchange should expect nightly closures this week as crews perform bridge repairs.
The Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) announced the right lane of I-30 westbound near the I-530 interchange will be closed nightly from 7:30 p.m. to 5 a.m., beginning Monday night, July 27, through Friday morning, July 31, weather permitting.
During the same hours, the I-530 northbound ramp to I-30 westbound (Exit 1B) also will be closed.
The closures will allow crews to complete repairs to the bridge structure.
A signed detour will be in place for motorists affected by the ramp closure. Drivers traveling north on I-530 will be directed onto I-30 eastbound, where they can take Exit 139A to return to I-30 westbound.
Digital message boards, construction barrels, barricades and signage will be placed in the area to alert drivers of the closures and guide traffic through the detour route.
Motorists are encouraged to use caution in the work zone and check for updated traffic conditions before traveling.
