Lincoln County residents woke up Tuesday morning to several highways within the county being shut down due to flooding following overnight storms. US Highway 425 and State Highways 54, 83, 114, and 199 all saw closures due to the flooding.

Lincoln County Judge Buddy Lynn Earnest spoke with Deltaplex News Tuesday morning to discuss the closures, saying they go beyond just state highways, but also into other roads into the county.

Earnest said that this reminds him of his first term as County Judge when Lincoln County dealt with flooding.

He also said that people should be cautious trying to drive on flooded roads.

New Lincoln County Sheriff Steve Young told Deltaplex News that there haven’t been any injuries due to the flooding, but one lady was pulled from waters after her car stalled.

Young said that bad drainage in the area helped to lead to the flooding, and he saw a very bad spot that has been washed out on Autumn Hill Road.

Young also said no other damage was reported due to storms other than the flooding.
