Both Sheridan coach Scott Hoffman and White Hall coach Mark Akins know what they have in front of them. You need to win three to get to UCA, but the road is going to be tough. Hoffman’s Lady Jackets got the title last year and even though some of the pieces are different, the philosophy is the same. Pitch well, get key hits and avoid errors. The Lady Jackets did all of those things well enough in the regular season to win the rugged 5A South and will open play tomorrow at Bryant against Searcy, the 4th place entrant from the 5A East.

At White Hall, longtime coach Mark Akins is trying to rekindle the glory days fire. The Lady Bulldogs won crowns in a row from 2012-2014. After missing the state tournament last season, he has a simple explanation why this team has bounced back in 2025.

Akins says having a powerhouse rival down the road in Sheridan is good for his team, giving them playoff softball twice a year during the regular season

White Hall will square off with traditional power Valley View at 12:30 tomorrow (5/15). A win over the Lady Blazers could match the Lady Bulldogs up with the home team Benton on Friday.
