Like almost every county in the state, Jefferson County is under a burn ban, and appearing on the Oldies 1013 morning show Thursday, County Judge Gerald Robinson was asked if he had a strategy for lifting the ban.

Robinson said a combination of high gas prices and the extreme heat had changed how the County Road Department is doing business.

He said that the high gas prices have actually benefited the road department because of having to adjust work hours.
