A Humphrey woman was killed in a two-vehicle accident in rural Arkansas County Friday afternoon.
According to a preliminary report, Courtney Lee, 23, was southbound on U.S. 165 at Phelps Road when the 2014 Nissan she was driving crossed the center line and hit a northbound tractor-trailer head-on in the northbound lane. After impact, both vehicles left the roadway and came to rest on the roadside.
Lee was transported to the DeWitt Hospital where she was pronounced dead. The driver of the tractor-trailer, Jerry Wilson, 60, of Little Rock was injured.
The accident was reported at 5:18 p.m. and the death was the 305th so far this year on the state’s highways.
