Saturday morning Officers with the Pine Bluff Police Department responded to the area of 33rd and Hazel in reference to a dead body. On arrival, officers found a deceased female on the East side of Hazel. The female had apparently been struck by an unknown vehicle sometime during the night. There were obvious tire skid marks on Hazel St. and on both sides of Hazel St before and after the location of the body.
There were several bags and purses around the female as well as several cards and paperwork with different names on them. The female’s identification was unknown at the time, but Tuesday the victim was identified by family as 50-year-old Zedella Samuels.
This fatal hit and run is being investigated as a homicide. Anyone with information about this homicide is asked to call the detective office tip line at 870-730-2106.
