A Hamburg couple was killed in a two-vehicle accident on U.S. 425 in Ashley County early Monday morning.
According to a preliminary report, Dina Kelly, 58, was northbound at 9:53 a.m. when the 1990 Chevrolet she was driving was hit by a 2014 Chevrolet driven by Edwin Velasquez, 36, of Honduras that crossed the center lane while negotiating a curve
Kelly and a passenger in her car, Bobby Kelly, 53, also of Hamburg were killed and Velasquez was injured and taken to Jefferson Regional Hospital at Pine Bluff for treatment.
The two deaths bring to 133 the number of people killed on the state’s highways so far this year.
