Law enforcement is actively pursuing Zion Jackson, 23, who is wanted in connection with a shooting that occurred in April at the University of Central Arkansas.

Despite efforts to apprehend him, Jackson has managed to evade capture twice in a single night, including an incident where he stole a city-owned mosquito control truck and led police on a high-speed chase.

Jackson is facing charges of first-degree battery and committing a terroristic act related to the campus shooting.

On May 10, Hazen police report that they initially stopped him during a routine traffic check. They say Jackson appeared nervous when asked for identification. He falsely identified himself, which led to a search of the vehicle he was in. Upon discovering a firearm, Jackson fled on foot, escaping the police pursuit.

Later that night, Jackson was spotted driving a stolen mosquito control truck. A high-speed chase ensued through a residential area, during which police attempted a tactical vehicle intervention to stop the truck. Although the vehicle was disabled, Jackson again managed to escape on foot.

Subsequently, Jackson allegedly stole another vehicle in Hazen. This vehicle was last seen in Searcy, Arkansas, on May 18, but both Jackson and the vehicle remain unaccounted for. In addition to the charges from the initial shooting, Jackson now faces further local charges and has existing felony warrants in Georgia and Conway.

Authorities are urging Jackson to surrender peacefully and are appealing to the public for any information regarding his whereabouts. They continue their search and ask anyone with relevant details to contact local law enforcement.
