One person was killed and two others including a former White Hall officer were injured in a two-vehicle accident near Leslie in Searcy County Sunday morning.
According to a preliminary report, Carolyn Griffith, 84, of Leslie was travelling southeast on Nubbin Hill Road in a 2008 Honda when she pulled into the path of a 2009 Jeep driven by Celena Harbison, 53, of Star City. That caused the front of the jeep to collide with the driver’s side of the Honda and forced it into a private parking lot where it struck the trailer of a 2020 Chevrolet that was parked on the lot.
Griffith was killed and Harbison, who formerly worked for the White Hall Police Department was injured, as was a passenger in her vehicle, Deleta Cole, 59, of Dry Creek, La.
The accident was reported at 843 a.m. and the death was the 395th so far this year on the state’s highways.
