The Jefferson County Department of Emergency Management is reporting a fatality in Jefferson county following Sunday night’s storms.

According to Jefferson county authorities, a tree fell on a house in the 2700 block of Old Dollarway Road at approximately 10 p.m. Sunday night, causing the death of 62-year-old Clayton Resor of White Hall.

The cause of Mr. Resor’s death is listed due to multiple blunt force trauma.

Mr. Resor was pronounced deceased by Jefferson County Deputy Coroner April Davis on Monday, April 13 at 12:26 a.m.

Response time for Deputy Coroner Davis took longer due to multiple trees and power lines down across multiple roads along her route.

Crews from the Jefferson County road department assisted with heavy equipment to move parts of the structure. The Redfield Volunteer Fire Department, Hardin Volunteer Fire Department, and Pine Bluff Arsenal Fire Department also responded to assist authorities at the scene.
