Hey Kids & Teens! Any Perler/Fusion Beads Fans out there?
Join us for some Perler Beads fun at the Star City Library on Tuesday, April 23, 3:45 – 4:45 pm! This program is for older children & teens ages 8-17. Participants will make their own mini beaded Perler Bead figure to take home. There is room for 15 kids & teens total. The library only has 15 pegboard bases available to start with. Perler Beads Club is hosted bi-monthly and alternates with Lego Club.
Perler beads have been around for a while: The small plastic beads are heat activated and made from a food-grade plastic called low-density polyethylene. They are arranged on pegboards to form patterns and then fused together with heat from a clothes iron. After heat is applied, the beads will fuse together creating designs into a single work of art. The beads can be arranged into any desired shape or pattern.
Please call the library at 628-4711 to reserve a spot, first come – first serve. This program can’t accommodate walk-ins, since material supply is a big factor for the project.
